What we collect

We collect the minimum necessary to run the service:

  • Account data: your email address, used for authentication and service communications
  • Paywall event data: events sent via the Voltaire SDK from your app (e.g. paywall_shown, paywall_converted, feature_gate_hit), associated with anonymous session IDs you define
  • Stripe integration credentials: your Stripe secret key, stored encrypted at rest, used exclusively to pull your revenue and subscription metrics
  • Stripe revenue and subscription data: we access your Stripe account to retrieve charge amounts, dates, subscription statuses, subscription IDs, and Stripe customer IDs (cus_xxx). We use this data solely to compute conversion rates, MRR, churn metrics, and revenue benchmarks for your account. We do not store your end customers' names, email addresses, or payment card information
  • Plugin usage data: when you run the Voltaire Claude Code plugin, the plugin calls our MCP server to retrieve your conversion metrics, benchmarks, and recommendations. No source code is transmitted
  • Basic usage data: pages visited and features used on hivoltaire.com, for product analytics

What we do not collect

  • Your source code: the Claude Code plugin runs entirely on your local machine. Your codebase is never uploaded to our servers
  • Your end customers' personal information: we do not store names, email addresses, postal addresses, or payment card details of your customers. Stripe customer IDs (cus_xxx) are technical identifiers stored for analytics purposes only and cannot be used to identify individuals without access to your Stripe account
  • Payment card data: payments are handled directly by Stripe

How we use your data

Your data is used exclusively to provide the Voltaire service: computing conversion and churn metrics, benchmarking against industry data, running AI agents on your paywall and retention data, generating daily digests, and producing weekly recommendations. We do not sell your data. We do not use your data to train AI models.

Data processing roles

When you connect your Stripe account and install the Voltaire SDK, you act as the data controller for your end customers' data. Voltaire acts as a data processor: we process data on your behalf, under your instruction, solely to provide the analytics service. You are responsible for ensuring your end customers have been informed that their behavioral data (via SDK events) and Stripe transaction data may be processed by Voltaire as a sub-processor. By connecting your Stripe account and installing the SDK, you confirm you have the necessary rights to share this data with Voltaire.

Sub-processors

We share data only with the following sub-processors necessary to operate the service:

  • Supabase (supabase.com): authentication and database hosting
  • Render (render.com): backend infrastructure, hosted in the United States
  • Stripe (stripe.com): payment processing for Voltaire subscriptions
  • Anthropic (anthropic.com): AI analysis for anomaly detection and weekly recommendations. We send aggregated conversion and churn metrics only (no personal data)
  • Google (Gemini) (deepmind.google): AI analysis for daily digests, timing analysis, and cohort analysis. We send aggregated behavioral metrics only (no personal data)
  • Resend (resend.com): transactional email delivery

Data location

Account data, event data, and integration credentials are stored on Supabase (Ireland) and Render (Oregon, United States). AI processing via Anthropic and Google Gemini operates in the United States. These transfers are covered by the respective providers' standard data processing terms. No personally identifiable information of your end customers is included in these requests.

Cookies

This website does not use tracking or advertising cookies. We use only essential session cookies required for authentication when you sign in to the app.

Data retention

Event data and Stripe metrics are retained for 12 months by default. Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. You can request full deletion at any time by emailing hello@hivoltaire.com. We will process the request within 30 days.

Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Integration credentials (Stripe keys) are stored encrypted at rest. Access to production data is restricted to essential personnel.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us at hello@hivoltaire.com.

Children's privacy

Voltaire is a developer tool intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 16.

Changes to this policy

We will notify you by email of any material changes to this policy at least 14 days before they take effect.
